Goz & Mez Second Place Ruthless Beerus

Hey! Anthony here to follow up on another Top Cut finish. I'm excited to jump into this one because I managed to Hakai most of my opponents with everybody's least favorite Set 16 Main Personality. Ruthless Beerus of all things is a deck I've been toying with for months and it has proven very strong in my testing. I came very close to playing it at South Kai but went with Resolute Ginyu instead. Derek's Snake Way Circuit Series seemed like a perfect place to put my dark horse to the test and so I went.     Round 1 vs. Kelly Dennis w/ Commanding Supreme Kai      Kelly and I had literally just wrapped up this same match up 15 minutes before the tournament and this game was wholly one sided in my favor just as the game before. I won the roll and enter turn 1, this deck's true strength being in E after powering up first turn and being the only deck in the game that can activate Ruthless Mastery immediately after winning the roll, and I proc...

Deck Profile: Saiyan Defiant Vegeta

Saiyan Defiant Mastery might not have had the strongest debut, but it's far from unplayable. Defiant Future Gohan was a pet deck of mine for some time, playing to the simple truth that all FG needs is a life card modifier to win games. Sadly the well-deserved limit of Saiyan Turning Kick robbed the deck of a good chunk of that "degenerate factor" that makes a strategy worth playing. Sure replacing the lost Turning Kicks with  Saiyan Aerial Assault   allows the deck to remain  playable , but it doesn't have the zest that originally drew me to it. So instead we turn to the most powerful Defiant deck in the current format: Defiant Super Vegeta. Saiyan Defiant Vegeta Starting: Saiyan Defiant Mastery Vegeta - Aggravated Vegeta - Prince of Bingo Vegeta - Pissed Vegeta - Super Saiyan Blue Planning: 4 Bulma - Taking a Drag Vegeta's Prideful Challenge x3 Events: 12 Vegeta's Fury Unleashed x3 Confrontation x3 Heroic Energy Sphere x2 Time is a Warrior's Tool Saiyan...

Desperately Seeking Support

As any card game ages, it develops a need for innovation. If the mechanics are left unchanged and new releases begin to retread explored ground, the game will grow stale and players will lose interest. Fan Z is no exception. Traits were the first new mechanic to be explored, and were exceptionally well-received by the playerbase. "Focused" was resurrected from Score Z. And in Premiere: Super , the Fan Z team introduced a wholly new mechanic not seen before in any iteration of DBZ: Desperation.     Desperation (henceforth abbreviated as " !!! ") doesn't really alter the way the game is played on a mechanical level. If you aren't aware, !!! effects only trigger when you have 0 cards in your hand. It provides a reward for sequencing, an incentive to play out your entire hand. But this in itself is sort of revolutionary. Dropping your entire hand is usually a faux pas in Fan Z, an overextension for which you can easily be punished when you are down a card in the...

Welcome to the Rundown!

Hello BroZ! Welcome to the Ruh Roh Rundown, a vanity blog where we'll be discussing the Fan Z card game. You can expect to see deck profiles, strategy articles, and whatever other kinds of Fan Z-related content that comes to mind, posted here on a semi-regular basis. Maybe even some new set previews...     There's nothing today save for this announcement, but we hope you'll enjoy some of the content coming your way in the near future!
